String Cases™ Launches a New Guitar Accessory Category, Transforming the Guitar Strap Into String Protection

Patent-pending innovation converts a premium guitar strap into on-guitar string and fretboard protection in seconds, redefining how guitarists keep their instruments on display and ready to play.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - October 19  2026 - String Cases™ today announced the official launch of its Founder Series Limited Edition Collection, introducing what the company calls the first true innovation in string protection or guitar strap design in decades - and, in the process, a new product category built around it. The patent-pending design functions as a premium guitar strap while a player performs, then converts in seconds into on-guitar string protection that helps shield strings and fretboard from oxidation, dust, and other airborne elements while the guitar rests on a stand or wall hanger.

For generations, the guitar industry has forced players to choose one of two options: willfully leave an instrument exposed on a stand or wall, where it looks great but its strings and tone slowly degrade, or lock it away in a case, where it's protected but out of reach - and out of mind. String Cases™ eliminates that choice entirely, and the company believes the result will be a meaningful shift in how often, and how many, straps players buy.

A New Category, Not Just a New Product

String Cases™ is positioning its Dual Mode Pivot™ innovation as the foundation of an entirely new accessory category - one the company expects will expand the existing guitar case and strap markets rather than simply compete within them. Because the product doubles as personal style and functional protection, the company anticipates it will drive materially more strap purchases per player, as collectors and gigging musicians outfit every instrument they own with its own case-strap and look.

"Most guitar players want to play more of the guitars they own," said Cord Pereira, founder and president of String Cases. "They're either stored out of sight, or hang on walls looking beautiful, but dirty from neglect with crusty strings. We didn't just build a functional case. We built a reason to leave every guitar out, protected, and play-ready. That changes how many straps a guitar collection actually needs."

How It Works: Play-Ready Protection™

String Cases™ operates on two simple modes:

Strap Mode: Worn as a fully adjustable, premium guitar strap while the musician plays.

String Case Mode: In seconds, the player disconnects the Strap Extensions, slides the String Case beneath the strings, seals it in place, and reconnects the extensions to the back of the guitar, out of sight - helping protect the strings and fretboard from oxidation, dust, and airborne elements while the instrument sits in the open.

The patent-pending design features premium neoprene and highly engineered hook-and-loop to fully enclose and shield the strings and fretboard, with leather and other premium fabrics and accessories planned for future releases. Each case fits most acoustic and electric guitars, and buyers choose their fit at checkout: the company's free PreFit service trims the case to the buyer's exact guitar model before shipping, or players can make a simple one-time trim themselves for a precise, custom fit in minutes.

The design was field-tested over a one-year period by multiple musicians and collectors across humid and coastal, dry and dusty, and open-air environments. Across the program, testers consistently reported cleaner strings and fretboards and longer usable string life on guitars using String Cases. Individual results vary with climate, playing frequency, string type, and instrument.

Founder Series: A Limited Launch Collection

String Cases™ is launching with the Founder Series Guitar Strap, available in four original designs - Americana, Bolt, Classic, and Colors - each priced at $89 and limited to the first 1,000 straps produced. Each Founder Series unit carries the Founder Series Mark and a sequential serial number, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Every String Case includes a convertible soft case and a pair of Strap Extensions, and each unit is hand-assembled.

The Founder Series is intended as the opening chapter of a much larger design roadmap. The company has confirmed plans for a growing catalog of hundreds of staged-release limited edition series and designs, the ability for players to create fully custom designed/printed straps, and a slate of licensed collaborations with major artists and brands still to come. String Cases™ has also confirmed that bass guitars and other stringed instruments are in development for future release.

"We're launching the Founder Series Limited Edition Strap because we wanted to set the tone, not show our whole hand," said Pereira. "Every guitar deserves its own String Case, and we're just getting started."

Designed by Players, for Players

String Cases™ was born out of Pereira's own frustration as a lifelong musician and entrepreneur. After moving half time to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Pereira found that humid, salty ocean air was rapidly corroding the strings on guitars he kept out on stands for convenience. The only solution - storing  instruments away in hard cases - turned quick jam sessions into a production and pulled him further from playing. Working with longtime friend and multi-instrumentalist Hugo Knef, now co-inventor and head of R&D, the company spent more than a year developing the concept that would become the String Case, ultimately arriving at the patent-pending product now shipping to customers.
